About Us

We are Cameron and Becky Bumgarner and BumVoyage is the start of our new travel journal blog where we capture our journey in retirement as we explore the beauty of the U.S. and beyond.  

Cameron grew up enjoying the outdoors with his family and was fortunate to see much of the world while traveling for work.  He introduced Becky to tent camping early on in their relationship.  Though Becky liked being outdoors she did not have experience camping or traveling.  Her travel was limited mostly to the Midwest and knew nothing of the beauty that the national parks and forest had. 

As we talked of our dreams of retirement, traveling always came up as a top priority.   Becky loved to hear Cameron’s stories of his travels with friends and his nephews through the national parks.  Friends and family over the last few years have shared what is special about their home towns or great places they have visited on their travels that we decided to see our own country first as there is so much beauty to see and things it offers to do. 

Over the past few months we’ve planned our Summer’24 trip where we’ll be seeing several states, national parks, breweries and visiting many friends.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to get across all of the U.S. or see everyone this summer, but we hope to continue to travel for years to come.
