After months of planning, preparation, and anticipation it finally here! We hit the road Monday morning. First stop was an overnighter at USA RV Park in Gallup New Mexico.
Next up was several days in Albuquerque catching up with our friends Shane and Diana. They are always gracious hosts and this time was no different.
Some highlights were a day trip to Jemez where we checked out the Soda Dam, Fenton Lake, Gilman Tunnel, and stopped for a drink at Los Ojos Bar which was previously owned by members of his family back in the day.
We took an awesome morning bike ride on the Bosque trail and stopped at the Rio Grand Nature Center.
Next it was off for an overnighter in Amarillo, TX and a stop at the Big Texan for a steak dinner…no, we didn’t try the 72 oz challenge, but we watched someone give it a try. He was looking in pretty bad shape 30 minutes into the 60 minute challenge.
Did I mention that Becky drove this leg? She’s a rock star!
Next Stop it’s Foss Lake, Canute, and Elk City for where we’re meeting up with our travel partners Jim and Beth Skelnik, and enjoying a visit with Greg and Renae Dodson.
