Well, it’s been a while since my last post which means we’ve been having too much fun for me to take a break long enough to put together a blog post. Oh well, I suspect many of you are following ahead by following Becky on Facebook anyhow.
We left Bar Harbor and headed down to the Portland area where we stayed in the Scarborough area. Our first day there was the 4th of July so we took the advice of a local beer tender and headed to a less crowded area to watch fireworks over the bay. We couldn’t find the area he was telling us about so we hiked a little over a mile over a bridge back into the waterfront to find a place on the hill overlooking the bay. It was fabulous and the fireworks were right in front of us. Well worth the trek to get there!

The next day we spent an early morning taking some pictures of the Portland Head Light and followed by breakfast at Becky’s diner where I picked up my new favorite coffee mug and then spent the afternoon exploring downtown Portland.

and of course, more Lobstah!

Later that day we took a trip down the coast to Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. Very cool costal towns that were bursting at the seams with people on the busy holiday weekend, but definitely worth a visit. We even took a drive to view the Bush/Walker compound.

One the highlights of our visit to the Portland area was the beer. We sampled several local breweries but the highlight was a trip to Maine Beer Company for some Lunch. For those who don’t know, Lunch is the name of their flagship IPA’s…delicious!

Next stop, Bedford PA for a visit with Ken, Julie, Joe, and Kim!!!
