Travel Days

Okay, so I’m a little behind which if you’ve been following along know it means weve been having too much fun for me to take a break and blog. Time to catch up!

So, we left Boone NC and headed off to meet up with Jim and Beth in Door County Wisconsin covering 950 miles in 3 days. Whew!

The first day was the longest as we made our way off the mountain and made our way outside of Louisville for a quick visit with Becky’s friend Marcia.

We stopped at our first Buc-ee’s along the way. It’s like a gas station and Walmart had a baby; 75 gas pumps, all the food options, cloths, travel essentials, and a car wash. We grabbed a couple Brisket sandwiches and some other munches and were back on the road. We sandwiches were great and Becky loved the Bohemian Garlic jerky I picked up. She lets me know how much every time I open the bag…lol!

We arrived, got setup greeted Marcia, and found ourselves in the middle of a severe thunderstorm alert. High winds and sheets of rain were pounding our rig so hard it was moving around a bit on the pad we are setup on. Becky and I quickly geared up and went outside to connect the trailer back to the truck for added weight and stability. It was quite a ride for Marcia who we left inside and I I’m sure it wasn’t the smoothest hookup I’ve made, but it was the fastest. We were all good after that and enjoyed some comfort food at Claudia Sanders restaurant, yes, the Coronel’s wife.

The next two legs were less eventful as we made our way up through Illinois and Wisconsin. I say less eventful, but there was construction everywhere and the roads were pretty rough. They had all my jiggly parts movin’ and groovin’!

Next up, Door county.
