Crescent City, Redwoods National & State Park

We made our way up the California coast to Crescent City where we were met with some cool damp weather with highs in the high 50’s. Time to break out the flannel!

The Redwood NP and State Park line the coast in this area and are often covered with a foggy marine layer which make the ideal climate for these giants to grow. We visited Stout and Circle Groves which made for stunning walks. These trees are taller than those we experienced in Sequoia NP but not as big by volume.

And of course, we took some selfies…

The coast is rugged and was foggy for most of our visit.

Rusty really enjoyed his first experience with the ocean at Crescent Beach. He ran, and ran, and ran. It was awesome to watch!

To top our stay off we were treated to fireworks over the ocean which is always a treat. We did have to bundle up though. Brrr!

Isn’t it remarkable to have to “bundle up” in July???!!!! You all are having such a great time and we thank you for taking us with you!!!! Rusty is a delight and we so glad that he’s acclimated so well to his first Camping Trip!!! Staccato says, “Good on ya, man!!!”
